Deal rectifies Eagles donation

When two student groups reallocated money from a reserve fund for student-discount tickets for the Nov. 13 Eagles concert, confusion followed, but university administrators said things would be set right. Now, $17,425 will be given back to the Student Government Association and the Student Activities Council, said Earle Doman, acting vice president for student affairs.

MSU gets set for budget cut

After an emergency meeting of the Executive Budget Committee late last Friday, President Michael Nietzel announced in an e-mail immediate spending freezes for the Missouri State system in reaction to foreseen funding cuts from the state government. According to the e-mail, these changes will affect maintenance and repair, classroom improvements, international and domestic travel (for faculty and staff, funded by the university) and discretionary projects.

Craig roof gets necessary repair

Senior Ashley Brendel started noticing a strong tar smell and loud noises during her classes in Craig Hall near the beginning of November. "The smell and noises are such a huge distraction in my classes," said Brendel, a general communications major. "I can barely hear my teacher half the time, and it's hard to stay focused because I get an instant headache from the tar smell as soon as I walk into my classroom.

Student uses technology to find stolen Xbox

A Missouri State student was able to recover his stolen Xbox 360 by use of the console's wireless technology, the student said. The console unit's wireless controller was still registered to the specific console, allowing the stolen merchandise to be tracked down, said Ryan Ketsenburg, a sophomore construction management major.
