Bulk of Ice Bears' 'seniors' will return

While it's still officially winter outside, the college ice hockey season has come to an end for Missouri State University. So what is in store for the Ice Bears next season? Who is going to come back next season and who is gong to graduate? The Ice Bears have six seniors (four forwards and two defensemen), and while losing all of them could be a problem, they are not.

The Missouri Valley Conference's March to the Arch will begin at 6:05 p.m., tonight when Drake plays Indiana State in Game One of the MVC Tournament in St. Louis. At 8:35 p.m. sharp, our Missouri State Bears will be taking on the Wichita State Shockers, as both teams hope to keep playing basketball in 2009.

Every college student knows that with March also comes spring break. But while spring break may mean time off and exotic destinations for students, for the Missouri State lacrosse team, it means something much different this year. No games. The lacrosse team, a club squad, doesn't play again until April 3.

UCA tops MSU in opener

Yesterday, with nearly perfect weather for a day at the ballpark, the Missouri State baseball team hosted Central Arkansas in their 2009 home opener at Hammons Field. While the day was sunny, the game would turn gloomy late for Missouri State. With the Bears down by just one run in the bottom of the seventh inning, sophomore Aaron Conway knocked a single to bring in junior Curt Courtwright for the tying run.
