"Since it was raining, we really only had music," said Steve Eudaly, the Ecopalooza coordinator said. "It was kind of hard because, from my family's perspective, they were taking it really serious because of the news, and then the embassy here said it was just a flu," said Lewis, a senior double majoring in marketing sales and Spanish who was studying at the University of Monterrey in northeastern Mexico.
The Springfield-Branson National Airport will be opening its new Midfield Terminal May 6 after construction began in June 2006. Kent Boyd, the marketing director of the airport, said the terminal, located near the old terminal on west Kearney Street, will open on the sixth with a ribbon cutting ceremony held by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and at this point, they are just fixing up the odds and ends.
Student Government Association will have a new form of senatorial punishment next semester after a resolution was passed during the last meeting of the spring semester. A censure is basically a formal reprimand for senatorial missteps, said William Hader, speaker pro-tempore of the Senate and the resolution's author.
A drag show featuring both drag queens and kings was held Thursday night in the Carrington Hall auditorium to benefit AIDS Project of the Ozarks, a local non-profit organization. The show was dubbed "Project Dragway" and was hosted by BiGALA. About 30 people attended the event.
