The Bears are coming out swinging this fall in preparation for the loaded conference schedule they will be presented with. The softball team has had the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming season with games against local teams like Drury and Evangel. They have been taking advantage of this opportunity by putting up 19 runs in their first two games against Drury and Coffeyville C.
Defense was the key to victory this week for the Missouri State football team, as they defeated Murray State 35-10 on Saturday. The Bears' defense scored two touchdowns and recorded seven sacks and two interceptions in a dominating performance. "We were really prepared for them," safety Derek Miller said.
Missouri State volleyball started the Missouri Valley Conference portion of their schedule with a pair of wins in its opening weekend. The team beat Indiana State, 3-0, and Illinois State, 3-1, to start the MVC season 2-0 for the fourth time in the last five years.
Coming off an impressive performance at the Southwest Baptist Dual, the Bears' cross country team looked to continue improving in the Missouri State Classic, the first of two scheduled Missouri State hosted meets this season. The Bears ended with a fourth place finish in the meet on Saturday, which consisted of ten teams.
