Letter: Missouri State not as safe as it should be

What are the university safety officials overlooking? The fact that a massacre larger than that of Virginia Tech could easily happen at MSU.
Ask yourself this question, when have you ever seen a SPD officer on campus or a university official in the classroom buildings. I've never seen a safety official on campus except for writing parking tickets. If a gunman were to enter one of Glass Hall's 60-120 seat class rooms, an officer wouldn't respond for at least four minutes. Having an officer that regularly patrols campus buildings should be required.
Lastly, if a gunman entered Glass Hall and started firing, there is no preventative measure in any class room, such as locks inside the rooms to keep gunmen out. So do we really feel safe while learning? I don't think so.
