The American Red Cross and country music band Rascal Flatts have partnered in an effort to get more people to donate blood, a Red Cross spokeswoman said.

"The blood supply right now is especially low because of the winter weather and the tornadoes, and blood drives have been canceled throughout the area," said Robin Burrows, marketing coordinator for the Greater Ozarks-Arkansas region of the Red Cross. "Because of that, we're trying to encourage donors to come out a little more and hope that this promotion will give them that little push that they need to come out and donate."

Every person that donates from Feb. 14 to Feb. 28 will be eligible to enter a drawing for two tickets and backstage passes to a Rascal Flatts concert in Little Rock on March 1, Burrows said.

Burrows said that there will be two separate drawings and that each winner will receive two tickets and two backstage passes to the concert. The drawing itself will be Feb. 29.

Rascal Flatts is a member of the celebrity cabinet of the American Red Cross, Burrows said. The cabinet consists of a group of celebrities that have volunteered for the program.

The promotion is available at all official American Red Cross donation points in the area, Burrows said.
