Greek leaders: Unregistered organizations recruiting

Sigma Sigma Sigma and Zeta Delta Phi were a major part of Missouri State's past. However, both organizations are no longer a part of Missouri State Greek life.
It has recently been reported that both organizations are recruiting members for fall 2008 rush.
A notice to students and parents from the dean of students said, "There are two groups of students who are reportedly recruiting other students to join their 'organizations.' While both of these groups have been registered students organizations in the past, both of them have lost that status due to violations of policy."
However, Sigma Sigma Sigma said they are not actively recruiting members.
"Since this all started last winter, there have been constant rumors about what Sigma has been doing," said Sarah Weider, senior marketing major and former Sigma Sigma Sigma Honors Council Chairman. "We know the truth, which is all that really matters to us. We've been hearing a lot of new rumors lately, so we've just learned to literally laugh at them. Tri Sigma is absolutely not recruiting new members."
The former sorority members were not aware they had been accused of recruiting, Weider said.
"I wasn't even aware that people thought we were recruiting until I heard about the letter from the dean," Weider said. "I have no idea why the university would think that we were recruiting. We have not advertised recruitment events or asked anyone to join our nonexistent sorority."
In the notice to student and parents concerning this issue, Mike Jungers, dean of students, said he could be wrong.
"I was very careful to be truthful. I used the word "reportedly" about recruiting. They could be false reports, but everything else in the article is factual information to my knowledge," Jungers said.
The word reportedly came from Greek leaders on campus, officials said.
"Complaints had been coming from Greek students and Greek leaders that they had seen T-shirts and banners stating 'Rush Tri-Sigma 2012.' In terms of ZDP, they have 'Rush ZDP' on a board outside of the house where they are currently living," said Andrea Weber, assistant director of student activities for Greek life.

I'm loving the "nonexistent" sorority/fraternities banding together for homecoming! How CUTE to have a shirt saying "legends never die" when what you're being remembered for is HAZING AND ALCOHOL VIOLATIONS!
I don't think campus or SSS nationals will want these psychos back on campus in 2012. (Continued…)
