Personality wise, Jasper proudly deems himself as the "loudmouth" of the three while saying Scherer and Herber can be "quiet party animals."
Jasper said he's known Scherer for most of his life, and the two then met Herber their freshman year of high school.
"Our families were friends so we were introduced at an early age," Jasper said. "I've probably known Ben for about 16 years or so."
All three have made contributions to Missouri State this season.
Jasper has 11 goals and 11 assists while Scherer, who said playing together in high school has helped ease the transition to the college game, has added two goals and three assists.
"You know where the other person is going to be," Scherer said.
Herber has a team-high 29 goals.
"It's been nice because (Jasper) has had an assist on so many of my goals this season," Herber said.
Practice spot lost
To the surprise of the lacrosse squad, a new synthetic turf field is expected to be installed on top of the team's current grass field this week.
Missouri State will now have to find a new place to host practices.
"It's not an ideal situation, but we'll make the best of it," Holman said. "We'll manage."
The Bears practice on the grass portion of the intramural field, known around campus as the Taco Bell Field for its proximity to the Taco Bell establishment that's next to it.
Team president Brad Shearman said he found out the news before practice began on Monday.
"One of the contractors came up here and said they would be starting tomorrow," Shearman said. "It was a surprise."
Shearman said he nor the team received notification from the University that the process would start this week.
"We thought they were going to do it over the summer," Shearman said. "We had no idea it was happening so soon."
Holman said ideal backup practice locations include Plaster Field or the Glass Hall Field. Should those be unavailable, the Bears would have to practice off campus.
"We have some places in Springfield we can go to if that situation arises," he said.
