Currently at 42 members, the fraternity plans on expanding in the next year and co-programming with other organizations inside and out of the Greek community, Nyander said.
Just two weeks ago, TKE hosted its first philanthropy event, "Strikes for Tikes," in which the organization raised $2,100 for Children's Miracle Network.
Tau Kappa Epsilon nationals also recognized the chapter as being ranked sixth overall out of more than 300 chapters for recruitment this year, said Kevin Kelsch, the public relations and philanthropy chairman.
Gamma Phi Beta began recruitment during the fall semester of 2008. The Delta Nu class of Gamma Phi Beta is currently comprised of 96 members.
Gamma Phi Beta is a national sorority that looked to expand its chapter on Missouri State's campus. Last Spring, Gamma Phi Beta's extension team came to Missouri State.
According to the Greek Life office, there was an interview process that took place and Gamma Phi Beta was chosen as the new sorority chapter at Missouri State.
While developing an entirely new sorority, committing 32 community service hours for their philanthropy Campfire USA for Girls, the members of the sorority managed to keep a 3.0 cumulative GPA and received an award for bringing the Greek community together.
