"All the drama in (Gossip Girl), I know I have drama in my life as well, but just seeing it happen to other people really interests me," said Natasha Sheldon, a senior media studies major. "I'm not really big into sitcoms. I watch them every now and then, but I'm more interested in the drama."
The TV insider: "I know a lot of people who watch Gossip Girl, and I only know one person who likes Big Bang Theory," Botsford said. "Gossip Girl, all that is, is Sex and the City all over again, but it's also based off of a line of books that were a big deal."
Wednesday 8 p.m.
Criminal Minds vs. Glee
The viewer: "(Glee) seems like a different kind of TV show," Sage said. "You don't get too many musical-based sitcoms. It reminds me of drama and theater when I was in high school. I do enjoy (Criminal Minds), but I don't get the urge to watch it as I do Glee."
The TV insider: "Criminal Minds, how many procedurals can you eat?" Botsford said. "Glee is so refreshing. I identify with the teacher, Will, and his journey to discover that it's more important to do what feels right versus money. I can sit down with my twenty-year-old daughter and eleven-year-old niece and watch it and have fun. I think it's going to steal ratings from Criminal Minds."
Thursday 8 p.m.
Grey's Anatomy vs. The Office
The viewer: "I tried to watch Grey's Anatomy two or three times, and something about it just completely shuts me off," Everett said. "Whereas The Office, I find it incredibly funny. It has great writing. Grey's Anatomy is so serious. I mean, 'we save lives.'"
The TV insider: "The Office is a cult hit; Grey's Anatomy is a cult hit," Botsford said. "They're both for very different types of people, so they're both doing niche shows in a way. There is some cross over, but you can watch those the next day."
Sunday 8 p.m.
Family Guy vs. Desperate Housewives
The viewer: "(Desperate Housewives) is really funny," Kleyunas said. "The story lines are just outrageous. There are always five different stories going on. Like, Lynette's pregnant with twins, everyone has a different story."
