Wanted: the Internet. Responsible for the deaths of the music industry, print journalism and most recently, network television. Reward: you'll have to pay for media again.

At the Primetime Emmys, former Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus hinted this season of television, which started last week, may be the last for network broadcasting. More and more viewers are skipping the original airings of their favorite shows to watch them on their DVRs or Hulu.com with less commercial interruption.

Despite the changing environment of mass media, Americans still own TV sets and occasionally like to use them to watch primetime television. Here's a breakdown of the week's popular shows to help you decide what to watch live and what to watch the next day on the Internet.

Monday 7 p.m.
House, M. D vs. How I Met Your Mother

The viewer: "I get mad when I miss House," said Brittney Everett, a senior media studies major. "House, just how he is, he's so out there. He's a complete asshole and yet I'm attracted to him. The dialogue that is written for him and how (Hugh Laurie) performs it is just great."

The TV insider: "How I Met Your Mother, I think it's very charming and very real," said Diana Botsford, a professor in the Media, Journalism and Film Department. "I think the characters are exceptionally well drawn. You have a couple of extraordinary actors on there, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan. It's something that's just a little more 'I buy that. I buy those characters.'

For me, House is too formulaic. Five minutes in, I know what's going to happen in entire episode. That's not entertainment to me. I know a lot of people just went crazy over the two-hour premiere."

Monday 8 p.m.
The Big Bang Theory vs. Gossip Girl

The viewer: "I love the intelligent wit behind Big Bang Theory," said Jacqui Sage, a junior psychology major. "(The characters) all have their own little quirks, and I love it. I also have a thing for boys with some kind of nerd tendencies. Plus, awesome theme song."
