The Bears have played well at JQH Arena this season, sporting a 12-2 record. However, the team is just 4-6 in road games this year.

"I think there were one or two games on the road we just didn't play well," coach Cuonzo Martin said. "I think it's mental more than anything. Outside of those one or two games, it's just mental; finding ways to win games down the stretch."

A good example of that was the Jan. 24 game against Creighton. In a game that had 18 lead changes, the final one went to the Bluejays, as they took the lead for good with just one minute left to play.

Sophomore forward Kyle Weems agreed that closing out tough games is something the Bears have been lacking on the road. He also mentioned what they need to do to get things turned around.

"Finishing out games, getting certain stops that we need, getting certain plays at key stages of the game, and just putting it all together," he said.

Junior guard Nafis Ricks also mentioned defense as a problem area, and gave his input as to what the Bears need to do.

"Carry out assignments on defense, get key stops, and don't foul as much," he said.

In their six road losses this season, the Bears have given up an average of 75.3 points, compared to their season average of 65.8.

Also in their six road losses, the Bears are giving up a field goal percentage of .480, compared to their season average of .431.

The Bears' next road game is Sunday at Wichita State (20-5, 9-4).
